"In this candid interview, Mike speaks about the festival and the meaning behind his contribution.

As if he weren't busy enough touring the world as the guitar-player of the band Incubus and attending college full-time at Harvard University, Mike Einziger somehow finds the time to compose and perform orchestral music.

After a two-month Summer (vacation) tour to support Incubus' greatest hits album "Monuments & Melodies", Mike resumed his studies at Harvard where he had just finished a very intense year of education. Now, in the midst of a new school year, Mike is undertaking yet another ambitious project, composing an experimental music piece for the upcoming "West Coast, Left Coast" Festival performance at LA's famed Walt Disney Concert Hall (November 21st at 9:30PM).

Tickets for the performance can be purchased via TicketMaster

MYF Post-Tour Auction

To view the auction items, go to the MYF 2009 Auctions eBay page.

"The latest news is perhaps the most exciting according to Incubus. A versatile entity, MYF does not limit funds to just one organization, but toward many environmental charities. In a continued effort to support the many benefactors, the band has announced a Post-Tour online auction that will include several items from the tour (e.g. Mike Einziger's PIPA played during the past tour) and some additional personal effects (e.g. Brandon Boyd's vintage Vespa). More information will become available in the coming weeks."

"None of this of course would have happened without the generosity of the fans," says front man Brandon Boyd, adding, "this summer Incubus fans not only came to our shows, but came early to our meet n' greets prior to the show." And those fans proved once again that they are a compassionate and charitable lot, indicates Versluis, stating, "During this summer's 'Monuments & Melodies Tour,' the Make Yourself Foundation held VIP package programs on all 31 dates with 100% of the monies benefiting the foundation. The fans ultimately raised a phenomenal $170,000 this summer!"

The Make Yourself Foundation is a registered 501 © (3) non-profit organization that funds various causes and charities both locally and around the world that are important to Incubus. Visit the Make Yourself Foundation site.
